Responsive. Adaptable. Resilient.

In recent years, the necessity for a responsive, adaptable and resilient healthcare network capable of providing a synchronized and successful response to the immediate healthcare needs of our communities has become increasingly apparent. We are the Region D Healthcare Coalition (RDHC), a network of healthcare organizations, providers and regional partners, based in Metro-Atlanta and committed to strengthening our healthcare system to ensure that it will be best prepared to respond during those crucial times of need.

Model For Georgia

Driven and Focused

Established in 2012 and funded by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR), the RDHC serves more than three and a half million citizens residing within eight metro-Atlanta counties: Clayton, DeKalb, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, and Rockdale. Our purpose is to combine effective communication, strategic acquisition and management of resources, and collaborative prevention, mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery to apply a coordinated response to healthcare events that occur within the region.

Achieving our goals is necessary to ensure the health stability of our region. The RDHC strives to create comprehensive, regional plans that direct the response of the coalition and its members during times of activation, to test those plans fully, and to make necessary improvements based on the results. Our additional objectives focus on identifying and addressing gaps within our region, and on increasing membership engagement and participation in our coalition.

About The RDHC

Led by Experience

The RDHC is led by an executive council charged with providing ongoing guidance, oversight and leadership for the coalition. Council membership is composed of officials within several key disciplines including public health, emergency management, emergency medical services, hospitals, and long term care.

Powered by Participation

Participation in the RDHC is encouraged for all healthcare providers, entities and organizations within the region who agree to work collaboratively to coordinate emergency preparedness activities. Widespread and active participation ensures that our members are fully supported, prepared, and presented with opportunities to gain valuable insight from the wisdom and experience of others. RDHC members are provided with a forum to plan and prepare for emergency situations as they collaborate to develop more effective means and better solutions for preparedness.

Realizing this vision will be determined by the continued perseverance of regional healthcare organizations, partners and providers, and the active engagement of our members.

How to Participate
