Hospital Decon Train-the-Trainer Course

The GA Department of Public Health will be having their annual Hospital First Receiver Decon Train-the-Trainer class to be held on September 22-24, 2026 at the new Arthur M. Blank CHOA Hospital in Atlanta. The goal is to have a cadre of instructors within each coalition to handle the needs of training facilities within the region. The course description is below for reference:
Course DescriptionThe GA Department of Health Hospital Decontamination Train the Trainer program is a 3-day course that provides students with the tools necessary to teach the decontamination class throughout the state.  Day 1 is a split program with both classroom and hands-on time.  Day 2 will consist of a short classroom session followed by a ¾ day field response. Day 3 will provide participants with the skills necessary to understand the differences between delivery methods.  Participants are required to bring spare dry clothes and towels for Day 2 to allow for all to participate in deconning as a provider and patient.

NOTE:  All participants are required to bring a Level C suit and PAPR for use during the training.  Instructors will be working with individuals using their facility equipment to allow for better understanding of the equipment.

(FYI,  Registrants will be placed on a waitlist until closer to the training date.  This tends to be a very popular class and fills up very fast.)
